I took the day off. What luxury to sleep in until almost 8:00am on a weekday! After a leisurely morn, we packed up a lunch and headed for Indian Canyons. First time we've been there in 33 years. What beauty in our own backyard! We had a fun time hiking and picnicing. Also saw a little history of the Cahuilla Indians. As we left, we read a sign that informed us that it was tarantula mating season and to watch for the tarantulas crossing the "deadly black road." We kept our eyes pealed (cuz that would've just made my day to get a pic of a tarantula crossing the road in search of lovin'!) No such luck.
We topped our day off with dinner at Wally's, starting with an escargot appetizer! (that wouldn't have been my choice, but you put enough butter and garlic on something and it can be quite tasty!)...and ending with a little cream puff filled with ice cream, topped with chocolate and a candle.
A very good day!!
