Nick and I pulled off the freeway to pick up some lunch and found ourselves at In-N-Out U. Nick was mortified, but I couldn't resist pulling out the camera. Makes me just want to go back to school!!
Move over Fergie!
Corynn loves to sing "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie. She is singing along with it on Jody's phone. She starts out fairly strong, wanes a bit, and finishes with a bang!
It's been a while since I've posted any toad sightings. I love to lift up the rock at the side of the house, that covers some pipes, just to see what I might find. I've seen toads in all sizes and quantities - tiny, large, singles, doubles, and once even triples (didn't catch that one on film). Then it will go empty for a while.
The first three pics were taken on 10/4 and then suddenly they were gone for a while. Then, yesterday morning they were back. Take a close look at the fourth pic. See that eye peeking out of the dirt? Later that day, I startled them and they went for the wall. Just a bit ago, I lifted the rock and they were just hanging out. Tried to fool me by taking off in separate directions.
At night they take off galavanting. Sometimes they will show up at the front door and other times we have to watch out when we open the garage door. Can't have them hangin' out in there! Besides the heat, they could get squished!! By morning, they usually manage to find their way back to the rock for their day time rest. Apparently, sometimes they go on vacation for a week or so.
I am still puzzling about where they come from and where they go, but love looking under the rock and finding them. Kinda like hidden treasure! In a nature kind of way.

Happy Anniversary! You still have my heart!!
They Said We'd Never Make It
By Nicholas Gordon
They said we'd never make it,
But now we've come this far.
Today we celebrate our love
And honor who we are.
We had a hard beginning
Adults before our time.
But growing up together made
Our deepest roots entwine.
You are my life, my love, my hope,
My friend, my world, my song,
The mirror of my unseen heart,
The place where I belong.
And as our one life passes,
Through love we live for two:
A cornucopia of joy
That we this day renew.
Don the Dragon's Birthday
Here he comes across the lake.
He's comin' for his birthday cake.
Sing "Happy Birthday, Dragon Don,"
And watch him blow the candles...on.
Shel Silverstein
No...I'm not done with Alaska yet!
While we were there, I loved taking shots of the flowers. Since they get plenty of rain, they were breathtakingly beautiful. And, they had some of the biggest mushrooms (or toadstools??) I have ever seen. Check 'em out!
Fun times with the twins!
Saturday I got to spend a lot of time playing outside with the twins. They were busy doing the things that kids should do. I thought their Uncle John would blow a gasket when he saw them making a mess of his planters (he takes care of them at mom and dad's), but he didn't say a thing! After they were done, we played "Clean up, clean up, everybody clean up" and made everything right again. What a fun day we had!
The Annual Oak Glen Apple Pick
Saturday family and friends headed up to Oak Glen for our annual apple picking venture. Chelcie grabbed my camera and decided we should get creative with our picture taking. She has quite the eye and got me going at it also. We had fun with the black and whites.
Corynn and Camdyn were in a fashion show last Saturday at the Lakewood mall. Jack Sparrow and Cinderella! How pwetha!! They got to sit on a CHP cycle after it was all over.
