Corynn and Camdyn decided it would be more fun to go to Grandma Bev's and hand out candy to the Trick or Treaters. She showed them how to hand out candy 2 at a time and tested them. Everything was fine until someone would head to the house. They would get so excited! Corynn would start yelling "Candy" and when the Trick or Treaters would get there, Camdyn would throw whole handfuls into the bags (making sure that his bag got a handful also each time).
They are too cute!!
maybe it is the Hustle that she is doing!! Way to go Chelcie!
Friday afternoon, the whole bunch of us - Doug, Kym, Chelcie, Madison, Nick, Mark and I - loaded up in Doug's vehicle and headed into Downey for the annual Downey/Warren football game at Downey High. Through Classmates.com, we had hooked up with some guys that we graduated with and were going to meet them at the game. This year was Doug's 20 year reunion (yikes!) and he was hoping to see some of his old gang also.
Well, Friday night, and the traffic was brutal! We left about 4:30 and by 5:30 were trapped in a snarl around Pedley due to a approximate 10 car pile-up. Once we got through that, we were on our way again only to get caught up in the regular Friday night traffic.
We finally get to the game a little after 7. It was packed!! We get up to the gates and there is a long line. Mark heads up to see what is going on and finds that the game is sold out! He says "We just drove in over 2 hours from Palm Springs to get here!" Well...they took pity and let the Palm Springs group through the gates. Christopher met us and we managed to get him in also.
Our friends had saved us seats and we sat and reminisced. Of course, Downey High was the start of two great love stories and it was fun to go down memory lane in that aspect.
Things are a little different at Downey now. Part of halftime was done in Spanish. Cheers are a little different. (I thought they were yelling defense, but the problem was that Downey was on offense, so not sure what they were saying!) Downey was the underdog, but won the game!
Afterward, we went by to see mom and dad and then headed home with a stop at Tommy's for chili cheeseburgers, hot dogs and tamales at 11:00 pm.
It was a fun night!!!
Dad, Mom, Christopher and I headed into LA yesterday for dad's check-up. MRI showed that the tumor has shrunk even more!! This was great news, since dad had a really bad month. Had a bout with pneumonia, which knocked him down and set him back. But, the day before his appointment, he started walking again and seemed much better. I accused him of being a big show off for his cute PA, Emily!
We celebrated by heading to Yang Chow's for a late lunch. Dad and Christopher both said it was about the best Chinese food they've had. By far my favorite! Yummy!!
