After a fun weekend, we headed home. But, we had to take a pit stop to check out the dinosaurs!
Thanksgiving, Madison, Nick and I set out to pick up the twins. We had a fun day putting with Papa, playing at the park, and going in the jacuzzi.
It was a Crazy Dancin' Turkey!
The minute this half of the turkey fell off, all I could see was the turkey in some old cartoon running around. Enjoy our Crazy Dancin' Turkey!!
but with cars. That is Ridemakerz.
Mark and I worked the Toyota program last night, since they needed extra people to man the Ridemakerz portion of the event. Mark worked "Mobilize" (assembly) while I worked "Cruize" (boxing the car).
The concept is the same as Build-a-Bear, with stations that you go through to build your car. Of course, we were building Scions (since it was a Toyota program) but they also have Ford, Dodge, etc. You pick your car, chassis, Treadz, Wheelz, and other custom accessories to make up your "Ride". I was giving out Decalz and by the end of the night saying "this is to trick-it-out!"
So check out the Ridemakerz website to "Chooze, Sonicize, Motorize, Mobilize, Customize, Personalize, and Cruize" your ride.
Fun was had by all (but I almost think the adultz were having more fun than the kidz)!
My Mom, the magazinaholic!
My mom loves magazines and subscribes to a ton! At one point she was going to cut back, but obviously decided she didn't want to. Why stop something that gives you enjoyment?
Anyway, every couple of months she goes through them and gives me a stack. I take them home, sort them and put them in "my" room. I don't always get to them right away. Today I decided to clean my room by laying in the hammock and going through the magazines (which are all now neatly tucked away in the recycle bin). Thanks mom for an enjoyable way to spend my day cleaning my room! Love you!!
Breakfast with friends!
This morning I met my friends from Eisenhower - Becky, Cindy, Myleen, and Kim - at Mimi's for breakfast. We had a great breakfast and caught up on each other's lives. We try to do this every few months. They are what I miss about the hospital the most! And silly me - took the camera and forgot to use it! Next time.
Oy Amanda - I know what you mean...
stinky finger!! Ugh! I went into the doctor for a finger check-up tonight since it was bleeding under the glue. Was afraid that it wouldn't heal if it wasn't dry. When I removed the wrapping for the doctor - yikes what a smell. Dirty feet all the way. I thought of you Amanda. Anyway, the doctor says that it looks pretty good and I only need to wear the splint til Saturday. He wants me to start bending it a bit so it won't get too stiff. But it's a case of damned if you do and damned if you don't. If I don't bend it, it will get too stiff and if I bend too far it will split open. Must tread carefully.
NRFL Update - Not looking good for Ducks!
Ducks need to kick (literally) to catch up with Birds. Score is 56 to 26 at this time, but the Ducks have a kicker tonite, with Birds done. We will see what shakes out. Signing off for now. Update this evening.
After a nice morning of relaxation in the jacuzzi and a brunch on the patio, I had to find a place in the freezer for the turkey. Of course this ended up with some cleaning to be done. As I finished chipping away the ice that formed at the bottom and went to wipe it clean, I slid my fingers right across a piece of sharp metal. As Madison would say, "Ouchy mama!" I put a nice slice right across the knuckle of my right pointer finger. It was pretty deep and bleeding pretty good. Mark took one look and said "Let's go." Of course, we were in the ER four and a half hours. Because it was a nice clean cut, they were able to glue it and splint it. Since it is on the knuckle, I have to keep it straight for a week. As you can see, Mark was having fun playing photographer!
All of this because of a frickin' chicken! (OK so it was a turkey, but that didn't rhyme.)
Big Game for the White's Today!
Well it is week 11 of the NRFL, and it is the T-Birds (Mark's team) vs the Duckie Boys (Doug's team). Both teams are 8 & 2. Father against Son. Tension is rising. Who will win? Can the Ducks keep up the high scoring that they have been blessed with the last several weeks? Or will they collapse to the Birds? Stay tuned for the update...
yesterday to go catch Chelcie's volleyball game. John Glenn vs Palm Desert (unfortunately :( JG lost to PD by one game) Chelce and her friend Taylor are both pretty solid players! Check, check, check 'em out!
with a visit with the twins. Corynn finally got her "Ice Cream Cone" (Strawberry Shortcake doll - don't ask - we can't explain). We had fun riding the bikes. Corynn can haul on hers. Camdyn kind of sits on his, but for some reason would rather sit on Corynn's. And then a little golf - whose gene's do you think contributes to that?? Hmmm...
Friday Mark did the turnaround to pick up Nick for the weekend. With Friday afternoon traffic being what it is, it was ugly, but they finally showed up Friday eve about 7:00pm.
Saturday morn we were up and off to the Jackie Cochran Air Show. Louise and Bob have friends with a hanger there, so we had primo seats. Since Nick has joined the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) we thought that he would really enjoy the show. Not only did he - so did we!
we picked up Chelcie and Madison, dropped Papa off at home and headed to the mall to kill some time. When I could finally drag the kids away, we headed out to the Flying M Ranch. The kids had fun making pinch pots, watching the blacksmith, ropin' and playing with the horse...
Nick enjoyed helping the blacksmith. Klaus the blacksmith offered me $12 for Nick. Sold!! He gave me his card and all the kids yelled "Hey its the wooly mammoth!" I called him back and asked if he was the one that built the mammoth on the hill off of the 60 freeway. He was. I had to tell him the following story:
Several years ago, when Nick was a small kid, he and I were driving along the 60 after dark. All of a sudden Nick gasped, "Lolo what is that?" I looked up and say the shape of a large animal up on the hill. It was dark, we couldn't see much, and it was quite a shock. We had never seen it before and had no idea what it was! Some time later we saw it in the light, but always remember the night that we thought some strange animal was watching us from atop the hill.

Whoo Hoo...
we're going on our Alaskan Cruise! It's for sure now. Just booked it Dano! How exciting and something to really look forward to (next August). I can't wait. It has been a while since a real vacation.
