After everyone went to church (and yes, Mark did go to church with his mom and the earth did not shake!), we all got together here at the house for some Easter food and a good old Easter Egg Hunt. Louise and Bob, Dawn and Terry, and Doug, Kym and the girls joined us. Kym's dad, Papa Steve and his wife, Mimi Sheila were also here this year to join in on the festivities. Chelcie made sure that Papa Steve got to enjoy his drink in a UCLA glass!
We missed all of you that could not be with us this year and hope that you had a wonderful Easter also!
This morning...
I got an early start into town. The sky was still dark, but the moon was huge and bright in the sky. I headed west, with the moon off to the right. As I traveled forth, it slowly dipped out of sight behind the mountain. The sky started to lighten behind me as the sun slowly rose.
As I traveled further west and passed the largest peak of the mountain, the moon slowly came back into view, just as large and bright as could be. In my mirror, I could see the beauty of the sunrise behind me, but stayed totally entranced by the beauty of the moon straight before me. I felt as if I was following it on its path west.
As I drove, I continued to watch until the white of the moon slowly melted into the early morning blue of the sky. Day was now upon me.
The Princess and Prince Tea Party...
or as Corynn called it "Her Tea Party!"
Madison and I met Jody and the twins in Norco for the tea party. Kris, her sister and niece and nephew were there with us also.
It was quite fun. All the princesses and then some going around taking pictures and signing autographs. Finger sandwiches, fruit, lemonade, etc. were served. They would get up on stage periodically and sing and entertain. A fun afternoon!
And yes, I did take a lot of pictures, so bear with me while I post probably a few too many!
Jody is up and running!
Jody has jumped on the blogging bandwagon. To see her blog, click on her link.
I'm such a doofus...
I was trying to help Jody get her blog set up and in the process of cutting and pasting the links over, managed to wipe out part of my blog. Oh well, maybe time for some changes. My "About" section is now under construction and will be completed again by this weekend. But, right now I need to go watch Survivor. I am behind at the moment.
Ciao!!
P.S. Jeff - you may be hearing from me.
OK, so...
maybe wasn't lovin' it quite as much this morning. It is so blasted dark out! But I went and worked out and I'm good again. Just can't wait until the morning light again is at 5:30 am. It'l happen!!
Love the daylight savings time...
it's 6:15 pm and it is nice and light out. The windows are open and the aroma from the orange blossoms next door are flowing through the house. It is beautiful out!! I love the spring. Life doesn't get much better than this!!!
Mark and Doug worked hard all afternoon putting together the new bookcases. What a job! Thank you so much Doug for helping your dad. He said that you were "invaluable!"
We celebrated getting that done with a good old shrimp boil. Dump it on the table and it eat with your hands! The girls decided they wanted to eat this way all the time because there are no dishes. Wrap it up in the paper and throw it away!
Well, the weekend was way too short. Now I need to find time to figure out what can go back into the office and what needs to be thrown away. I know what I will be doing next weekend. Will keep ya'll posted!
we went in to Downey to check up on my mom and dad. Dad came home from the hospital on Wednesday (after 20 days there) and was doing OK, but Friday the shaking started again and he ended up back in the hospital Friday night. He is doing better and was sent home on Saturday. Hopefully things will stabilize! This is getting very frustrating and wearing for both mom and dad!
After a visit with them and brother John, we headed into Pasadena to check out our favorite Chinese restaurant, Yang Chow's. Yummy, yummy (had only been to the one in LA and this one was quite as good). We then headed to Ikea for a couple of bookcases for our home office.
Well, two large bookcases turned into two large bookcases, plus two smaller bookcases, a tabletop, bench and some drawers! A complete office redo!
Today's project - empty the room and rebuild. Doug will come over to help Mark later today. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
(During the cleaning out process I found $1510 - unfortunately it was Monopoly money.) Who knows what other treasures will be found!
Here are the before pics - after will follow when complete.
