5.8 - 4 miles SE of Diamond Bar. Shook good here in the desert and can't get a hold of my mom and dad or Jody. Wow!! First we have felt in a while.
Last night we headed out to the Dodger game. What a fun time we had! It brought back memories of our early days of family time. When Doug and Jody were little, it was cheap family entertainment. Not so much any more! Thank goodness and Kym for free tickets!
This was the twins first time to a game and boy did they enjoy it! They liked those “Lakers” and had to keep being corrected. Corynn really enjoyed clapping time and Camdyn had fun with the binoculars and wanted to know if the guys in the outfield ever ran, as he proceeded to show me how good he could run. Luckily we were in a fairly empty section that gave him the opportunity to do so.
It has been quite a while since I have been to the stadium and things have changed a bit. I love Panda Express, but there are just things that don’t belong at a baseball game. Hot dogs, peanuts, beer, chocolate malts, are the memories of past games. These foreign smells just weren’t right!
Jody had to throw in a “Poor Niedenfuer!” for my sake. (Inside family joke, which I will never live down, although last night it would’ve been “Poor Kuroda!)
Chelcie and Madison were missed, as they are up in Idaho visiting Papa Steve and Mimi.
Hey Chelcie – “Graaape!”
(As you can see by the neck shot provided by Camdyn, I did attend the game.)
The radiation started taking its toll on dad's hair, so Fred really gave him a haircut this week! Lookin' good Dad!!
this year, I put together some photo albums for them, compiling pics and memorabilia from baby to graduation.
In Dougs, I included a record of songs all about "Douglas"! What a crack-up it was to hear these crazy songs that were put together by Captain Kangaroo (remember him!) We sang and danced around the house.
my wrist hasn't changed in 34 years!
Both of my kids seemed to enjoy their books as much as I enjoyed putting them together. It's amazing at some of the things that I have saved over the years. And...there is more! Wait til you guys have to clean up after me some day!
Love you both much!!
Mark, Nick and I went up to visit Dawn and Terry. Saturday, Mark headed out to play golf, while Dawn, Terry, Nick and I loaded up the bikes and headed up to Avila. We park at the top of the Bob Jones bike trail and unloaded the bikes for a ride down to the beach. Weather was a bit under the weather, but we enjoyed the ride, a walk on the pier, eating fish tacos and clam chowder and then, for desert, gelato! Yummy! Was a fun day. Can't believe we have never done this in all the years that we have been going up there.
Chelcie's Palm Desert All-Stars...
are on their way to the state tournament! KMIR news was at their practice the other night and Chelcie ended up being interviewed. The clip showed her quite a bit and it was a good interview. Kym and I were both ready to post the entire thing, but with copyright laws, etc. we didn't want to end up in any kind of hot water, so here is a pic of Chelcie on the news.
Way to go Palm Desert 14U girls!!
Dawn - please note - Madison had her blankie just in case we caught a chill! Like that was gonna happen!
